Our History
Since 1972, Menatec has been a leading adhesives manufacturer in Egypt. It started as as a small unit for the production of household and institutional synthetic detergents powder. These powder detergents were produced by a novel process at that time known as “Dry neutralization process” . The new process enables the production of powder detergents in small or medium scale , compared to the spray drying process which necessitates a large scale production , luckily our company was the first private sector company in that field

Up till the early 70’s , powder detergent manufacturers used to pack their products manually using animal glue as the main adhesive . By the end of the 70’s , a big shift towards mechanical packaging took place and so animal glues became obsolete .In that same period our company introduced permanent liquid glues based upon Dextrins (pyro-modified starches).
The success of this product encouraged many paper converters also to substitute animal glues with these dextrin glues and thus we formulated many products for the different paper converting applications and we became very well known in this aspect .
In the year 1987,our success in Dextrin based adhesives encouraged us to produce synthetic emulsion polymer adhesives based on PVA’ s and acrylics to fulfill the requirements of paper converters and printers in some applications where dextrin adhesives are less efficient or unsuitable
In 2022, the company started the manufacturing of its hot melt range that cater for the packaging and bookbinding industries providing high quality of EVA and Metallocene based hot melts.
